Because of both the glitches and errors that need to be fixed, as well as some problems with the story, Dying Light 2’s reviews have been a bit of a mixed bag. Indie games are here to stay on the PS4, and it doesn’t look like Sony intends to slow its momentum on that front, as demonstrated by their showing at the company’s E3 2015 conference last night, including the announcement that Firewatch (among many others games) will be making its way to the console sometime this year. It’s for that reason alone that it’s hard to jump into Star Wars Battlefront without anything but rose-colored glasses. The sound of blaster fire whizzing by, Tie Fighters and X-Wing’s dogfighting in the sky above, and even the music all create the sense of immersion fans want from a Star Wars game. During their E3 press conference, Microsoft announced a new program which looks to directly tap into those ideas put forth by Steam’s Early Access program. Known as the Game Preview program, Microsoft revealed that Xbox One players will be able to purchase and play titles that are still in active development. By jumping into the game early, the community will be able to become more active in the game’s development by providing feedback which may even help shape the title before it’s released....

Some companies hosting press conferences, like Electronic Arts, haven’t had much in the way of leaks leading up to the show. EA will be showcasing the likes of Anthem and Battlefield V at E3, but just because there haven’t been many rumors about other EA titles at the show, that doesn’t mean fans aren’t still in for some surprises. Bethesda Bethesda gave fans a pair of pre-E3 surprises when it announced Rage 2, which was previously leaked by Walmart, as well as Fallout 76....

After more than two years in development, the game, codenamed Project LMNO, is officially no longer in production. The news comes from Jake Kazdai, a former developer on Project LMNO, during his appearance on the most recent 8-4 Play podcast. In talking about the reasons behind the game’s cancellation, Kazdai had this to say: Despite EA’s recent efforts to expand and take risks on new and unproven IP’s with games like Mirror’s Edge and Dead Space, it seems that not all of them are destined to see store shelves....

During EA Games’ quarterly conference call on May 9, 2017, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson commented on the publisher’s support for the Nintendo Switch. While reconfirming that the firm would be releasing FIFA 18 for Switch later this year, Wilson also stated that Electronic Arts “continues to be bullish” in regards to the platform. As a result, it will be looking at its software lineup to consider additional support moving forward....

At EA Play 2019, three brand new titles were announced to be coming through Electronic Arts Originals Program. While none of them currently have release dates, two of the three games are being developed by the teams responsible for the likes of Fe and A Way Out. The first title comes from Zoink Games, creators of Fe (2018), and is an action fantasy adventure called Lost in Random. Next is a cooperative action RPG from mobile developer Glowmade called Rustheart....

In a press release, Eletronic Arts confirmed that EA Play will be making a return at E3 2018. EA Play 2018 will last from June 9-11 and attendees will see “more EA brands, more hands-on stations and more entertainment than ever before.” There’s also some fun in store for those who cannot attend the event, as the “world’s biggest names in social media” including influencers from Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter will be streaming and vlogging the event for viewers to see....

FIFA 12 will be released featuring the usual impressive portfolio of contents and then some - over 500 licensed clubs, eight different game modes, WiFi Multiplayer, Be A Pro mode and a full Career Mode (they’ve even added on a 5 on 5 Street option on 3DS, too). While the fact that they managed to port the majority of features from the console iterations of FIFA 12 is a strong gesture to mobile players, EA today unveiled their two main features: innovate touchscreen controls and, of course, 3D....

Sure, he only came out and told the crowd to “imagine” games like Battlefield 3 on the Wii U, but it was obvious from that point on that EA was serious about providing solid games for Nintendo fans. That’s why it should come as no surprise to hear that EA is going to be a major player when the Wii U launches at some point next year. GamesIndustry.biz posted a recent interview with EA’s Frank Gibeau, in which he reconfirmed EA’s commitment to the Wii U, and also confirmed that it’s very important for EA to have games on the new system at launch....

Hachette Books told The Associated Press on Tuesday the book is called “Fearless” and is coming out August 28. According to Hachette, Pederson will look back on his career as a quarterback and assistant coach and tell of the Eagles’ unexpected championship season. Pederson has been the team’s head coach since 2016. He said in a statement that he had always considered himself an “underdog,” whether backing up quarterbacks such as Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers or, as Eagles head coach, facing the Patriots in Super Bowl LII and winning 41-33....

Ashley Barnes hit the winner with seven minutes to go at Turf Moor on Saturday, denting Spurs’ title hopes after Harry Kane scored on his return from injury to cancel out a Chris Wood header.
