Depressingly, there hasn’t been a full main entry in the Wing Commander series since 1997’s incredible Wing Commander: Prophecy (We’re not going to count the downloadable Xbox Arcade title Wing Commander Arena) and Roberts’ failed attempt at making a Wing Commander feature film in 1999 did the opposite of helping boost the brand’s appeal. In the end, the franchise’s developer Origin Systems represents another developer acquired and disbanded by Electronic Arts with once-hot franchises all killed off....

Most sports gamers remember NCAA Football 14. Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson graced the cover and it’s still purchased to this day for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Since then, NCAA Football video games ceased to exist, making the aforementioned game very expensive online. Fans clamored for EA Sports to create a new installment of the famous franchise, but for years, it was unable to meet those requests - until now....

During the UBS Global Technology Conference 2017, EA’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen noted that “Less and less of our business is dependent on brand new titles.” This follows on from EA’s recent suggestion that FIFA and Madden may drop annual releases in favor of regularly updated games with live services. But despite this shift in EA’s business, the publisher is not yet ready to ditch new game releases across the board....

This much was revealed by Electronic Arts’ executive vice president Patrick Söderlund while speaking to Edge Magazine, who explained that while the company wants to support the Switch, at the end of the day, it comes down to whether or not releasing games on the platform is a viable decision from a financial standpoint. However, it wasn’t until late April 2017 that Dynasty Warriors 9 producer Akihiro Suzuki followed up on Koei Tecmo’s declaration, apologizing for the delay and promising that more information would be released in May. EA is no stranger to criticism regarding its aggressive approach to microtransactions. During the early development livestream, EA Motive showed off the work in progress that is the upcoming Dead Space Remake. The early build showed off a comparison between the original look of Dead Space and the new version after adding more details, lighting, shaders, and materials. As a result, the areas of the game that EA Motive portrayed during the livestream made the higher fidelity of the remake evident. From necromorphs and dismemberment to the zero gravity sections, everything seems to be havily updated to meet modern standards....

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz at the Montreal International Game Summit, EA Motive general manager Patrick Klaus said that the Montreal team of developers is developing two games. One of these is a new IP and the other is the Star Wars game, which Klaus calls “very unique.” Klaus didn’t provide any details on what makes this Star Wars game so different, but it means that fans shouldn’t expect gameplay to be just like Star Wars Battlefront 2 (which EA Motive helped develop) or new release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order....

Now, EA has announced the newest set of in-game rewards that EA Play subscribers can redeem for the month of October in addition to the “Ready Up” Epic Outfit that subscribers could already redeem for EA’s dodgeball multiplayer shooter Knockout City. There is a little something for nearly everyone in October, with EA paying special attention to its biggest sports titles like Madden NFL 22, FIFA 22, and NHL 22, as well as giving a little something to Apex Legends players as well....
