It hasn’t been that long since EA Play got an overhaul, as the subscription service came to Steam and allows players to access major EA titles through the other game store. EA games weren’t always available on Steam, with titles like The Sims 4 only available through the Origin desktop app. These games can still be purchased, updated, and played through EA’s app, but it’s getting a new name and a new look....
The Irish Examiner reported on the court case of the eighteen-year-old, noting that among the radical and frankly disgusting language levied at the iconic player, using monkey emojis, and using a bevy of racist insults “beginning with N- and C-” said Sergeant Eoin Donovan during the proceeding. According to insider source Tom Henderson, all three games are tentatively planned to be announced in July. As noted, there is no single event planned where the games will be shown, but rather will come in the form of individual announcements. Specific dates for each announcement aren’t provided in the report. However, Henderson does say that he’s been told that the FIFA and Need for Speed announcements will come in the second half of July....
For now, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for EA to address those affected fans - as the publisher is still using its Mass Effect 3 PR muscle to fight the reapers frustrations over the day one DLC “From Ashes.” Previously, savvy gamers discovered that portions of the “From Ashes” assets could be found on the launch retail discs - leading some players to assume that the DLC could have been accessed for free and that EA had intentionally withheld the content to milk gamers for more money....
Eurogamer recently reached out to Electronic Arts regarding its loot box practices in the FIFA franchise, following a decision by the UK government not to regulate the practice. EA responded with a statement defending the practice and why it believes FIFA Ultimate Team and FUT loot boxes are necessary. In that statement, EA explains that it believes these FIFA loot boxes “are a part of FIFA that players love,” noting that they have been a part of the FIFA franchise for over a decade....

“NBA Live 16” was the series’ last game on consoles and, while a better effort than the dreadful editions that preceded it, the game managed to sell only 8,000 copies in its first week of release. That’s compared with “NBA 2K16,” which moved well more than 1 million in the same time. EA Sports saw the writing on the wall and pushed “NBA Live 17” out of last fall, a period in which an insane amount of competition would have eaten it alive....
In an unlisted video posted to its official YouTube channel, EA has revealed a montage of the hair rendering technology in Frostbite. The 28 second clip shows a model sculpture walking, with the camera showing how the hair looks from behind. Each strand on the model’s head seems to move independently, rising and falling as the model takes a step. The hair also bounces convincingly as the model twists and turns, jumping through the air....
