The latest entry in the franchise, Need for Speed Heat, was highly reminiscent of the 2004’s Need for Speed Underground with its neon-soaked city streets and extensive customization options. While this seemingly put the franchise in a much better state than it was at the time Need for Speed Payback was released, it still wasn’t enough to reach the heights of Need for Speed Most Wanted (2005), not to be confused with the reboot of sorts that released in 2012....

Assuming Xbox Game Pass does intend to expand even further beyond its already far-reaching library, there’s many different services that could partner with Microsoft. If anything, the EA Play partnership would be the start of an ambitious expansion plan, partnering with other game subscriptions, game streaming platforms, or even expanding to multimedia options like Disney+ and Funimation. Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has already teased “big things” are coming to Xbox Game Pass this year....

Cory Moss, CEO of Collegiate Licensing Co., said of Thursday that EA Sports is planning on launching the game during Summer 2023. “That’s the hope,” Moss said, according to 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello. With the announcement of the NCAA’s new NIL rules this year, the idea for the game was re-introduced. However, a company’s more than just a logo and a series of buildings, and despite the publisher’s poor image Electronic Arts employees occasionally step up and do the right thing. For a recent example, look no further than the story of Roman, a 10-year old boy who lost out on a copy of Madden NFL 15 simply because he was wearing a Lions jersey. Apparently, Roman’s grandmother gave the boy and his family tickets to see the Detroit Lions - Roman’s favorite football team - compete against the Dallas Cowboys in a highly anticipated play-off game....

This will be a continuation of a relationship between EA Sports and the PGA Tour that began back in 1990 with their first golf release, PGA Tour Golf. This new game announcement comes along with a “new, long-term deal” between the two to make golf games for the next generation of consoles. It’s been clear from the start that developers Techland are keen to differentiate Dying Light from their previous first-person zombie action title Dead Island. Parkour elements and special abilities gained from your own infection contribute to these efforts — as is the intriguing ‘Be the Zombie’ mode first teased last year. Available as a special pre-order bonus, the mode will allow players to take control of the dreaded ‘Night Hunter’ and invade the games of other players....

Of course, given Techland’s experience with the first game, it’s hard to really divide these first two entries, but the sequels are a different story. Dying Light 2 is out now, while Dead Island 2 is still really quiet. But Dying Light 2 hasn’t forgotten its roots, it seems, as it features a pretty potent Easter egg to the first Dead Island. Xbox Live members will be able to link their save data and Gamertag info to any console, thanks to the data actually being stored on a remote server rather than a local hard drive. However, sometimes console makers like Sony and Microsoft are able to provide a timed exclusive for a game, or console exclusive missions and additions in an effort to promote their platform above another. Such is the case with Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. During the Sony E3 presentation today, the PlayStation 4 maker announced that the new Assassin’s Creed game will come with a series of exclusive missions....

The trailer opens with a monologue from Peter Parker, over very detailed and sweeping views of New York City. The trailer then pans up to reveal Spider-Man wearing a unique suit with a large white spider symbol on his chest and white gloved hands across the familiar red and blue. City traversal appears to be a major element as the trailer showed off Spidey’s acrobatic and free form moves as he slings across the city and uses his webbing to take out some thugs during a car chase and what appears to be a bank heist....

ZOR is a mash-up of genres, a deck-building roguelike with survival and crafting elements set on tabletop-inspired grids. Developer Righteous Hammer Games - known for 2016’s Solitairica, a roguelike-RPG take on Solitaire - is relatively small for the scope of its current project. Just two individuals are working on the bulk of ZOR from their garages: studio founder and creative director Clint Jorgenson alongside artist Gavin Yastremski (with some contractors pitching in)....

EA’s chief design officer, Patrick Soderlund, recently spoke about the company following the wake of recent controversies. With Anthem, EA’s next major title from BioWare, Soderlund says that the Battlefront 2 situation has forced the company to not only accept what it’s done, but to take a long look at its policies. Part of this has been the implementation of significant steps to review and understand the microtransaction mechanics before going live with them....

It’s hard to say much about FIFA 12 with only this screen shot to go on, but from the looks of the textures and background, it appears nothing too drastic is occurring with the visuals. We hope that this screenshot is merely preparation for a long form trailer that will showcase any of the graphical improvements that have been made to the series. With the MLS 2011 season underway and the Champions League Finals right around the corner, it is the perfect time for EA Sports to begin showing off FIFA 12....

Dying Light’s Harran is split up into two main portions, the Slums and the Old Town. Players will start the game in the Slums, but after progressing far enough in the story they will eventually gain access to Old Town. While players can walk back and forth between these areas, the game doesn’t make it very clear that there’s actually a fast travel method to go between the two....
