In a press release sent out earlier today, EA brought special attention to a FIFA 20 ‘Stay and Play Cup’ that will be streamed between April 15 and April 19th on the game’s official Twitch channel to support Global Giving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund. EA will also be donating $1 million to “support immediate and long-term relief and recovery in vulnerable communities” as part of this event. Last month production was halted on the next installment of Mirror’s Edge after DICE showed their prototype of the title to EA execs. They weren’t too impressed, and had DICE focus efforts on Battlefield 3, which turned out to be a good decision because Battlefield 3 looks amazing! Gibeau knows that fans of the series feel that they won’t see another Mirror’s Edge game, and in his interview with CVG he wanted everyone to know that EA wants to release another title, but won’t green-light the project until they know they have a big seller....

College football video games had been a staple for EA as far back as 1993, when Bill Walsh College Football was released on Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. Every year after that, until 2013, some iteration of a college football title was shipped before the licensing issues brought the series to a halt. Jan Holman, 68, was given the chance to say a final goodbye to her horse Bob and two King Charles Spaniels Monty and Rowley from her bed at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Chester, in northern England. Holman had been moved to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd a month before and had missed spending time with her animals. In a Facebook post shared on Wednesday, a hospice spokesperson said: “Following her arrival at the hospice, our care team soon discovered that patient Jan Holman had some very special friends in her life and following a spell of four weeks in hospital she was missing them desperately....

The internet has been abuzz with speculation concerning images supposedly taken from an E3 pamphlet that hint at a Half-Life-centic surprise. Gabe Newell himself debunked these rumors though, claiming that the surprise will not be Episode 3 and that the pamphlet images were indeed fake. While this news may sadden some fans of the series, Gabe makes no mention of Half-Life 3, meaning that there’s still hope for an announcement....

In Electronic Arts’ quarterly earnings report, CEO Andrew Wilson told investors exactly how they should think about Battlefield 2042. Wilson tells shareholders “you should think of Battlefield as a service,” indicating that Battlefield 2042 isn’t just a one and done purchase, but rather a platform that’s expected to continue bringing in revenue well after launch. That’s a message that shareholders will obviously want to know, which explains why Wilson is mentioning despite Battlefield 2042’s post-launch plans not being fully explained yet to the public....

By adding EA Play to the Game Pass Ultimate service, Microsoft provided almost 100 EA games to its list of downloadable titles for only $14.99 a month. Players were then able to download hit EA games such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and entire franchises like Battlefield, Dead Space, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect.
