However, it appears that the studio isn’t finished supporting Dying Light just yet. Several days ago, Techland revealed another version of the game called Dying Light: Platinum Edition. The official list price of Dying Light: Platinum Edition is $100, though all platforms are currently offering it for 75% off, or $25, for a limited time. Here’s a detailed breakdown of everything new players should expect from Dying Light: Platinum Edition.

Everything Included in Dying Light: Platinum Edition
Although Techland has been mostly preoccupied with Dying Light 2, the studio was able to release several DLCs that expanded the story of the first game. Luckily for players interested in checking out Dying Light: Platinum Edition, the bundle includes all previously released content, including the standalone expansion The Following.
For the uninitiated, The Following was released in February 2016, featuring a new story campaign, controllable vehicles, and a new map that equals the size of every map in the main campaign. The Platinum Edition includes smaller expansions and game modes such as Be the Zombie mode, Cuisine and Cargo, Hellraid game mode, and The Bozak Horde.
Apart from the DLCs and extra game modes, Dying Light: Platinum Edition includes all previously released content such as weapon bundles, outfits, skins, and special items. Among the inclusions is Dying Light’s 5th-anniversary bundle that includes a new character outfit, a new buggy paint job, and blueprints for three new weapons: a powerful shotgun, a gas pipe, and a sledgehammer. Below is a list of everything included in the Platinum Edition:
Dying Light (Base Game) The Following Cuisine and Cargo Bozak Horde mode Be The Zombie Mode Hellraid Mode 5th Anniversary Bundle Classified Operation Bundle Crash Test Skin Pack Godfather Bundle Gun Psycho Bundle Harran Inmate Bundle Harran Tactical Unit Bundle Rais Elite Bundle Harran Ranger Bundle Retro Wave Bundle Shu Warrior Bundle Ultimate Survivor Bundle Viking: Raiders of Harran Bundle Vintage Gunslinger Bundle Voltaire Hunter Bundle Volkan Combat Armor Bundle White Death Bundle
Is There a Free Upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Players?
Unfortunately, Dying Light: Platinum Edition does not include any current-generation console versions of the game. Luckily for owners of new consoles, the PS4 version of Dying Light is available via backward compatibility to the PS5, and the same is true for Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S.
At the moment, it doesn’t appear that Techland is planning to release current-gen versions of Dying Light. However, given that other games from the PS4 and Xbox One era, such as The Last of Us 2 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, have since received current-gen versions, it wouldn’t be impossible for Techland to do the same for Dying Light, though the chances are slimmer with the release of the sequel this year.
Of course, PC players won’t need any upgrade options, so the only thing players on that platform have to decide on is whether to buy the Platinum Edition on Steam or GOG. As far as upgrading to the Platinum Edition from the base version of Dying Light, it appears that players who own the base game must make a separate purchase to access all the content included in Dying Light: Platinum Edition. This means that to access all the content released for Dying Light so far, players must shell out $100, or $25 if they can grab the game while it’s on sale for a limited time.
Dying Light: Platinum Edition is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
